ROGER KING on keyboards

Roger has collaborated with Steve in the studio now on many projects - Darktown, Midsummer, Tokyo Tapes, Genesis Revisited, Sketches of Satie, To Watch The Storms... As an engineer, programmer and keyboard player he's made records with artists as diverse as S-Club, Gary Moore and Warren G as well as working on high profile movies such as "Cliffhanger" and "In The Name Of The Father" and writing music for TV. Oh, and he's just returned from Japan having played keyboards for Paul Gilbert, Nuno Bettencourt and John Paul Jones, as well as Steve. Blimey!

A curvy 39-34-39, Roger spends his spare time horse riding, sewing and caring for disadvantaged livestock ...

GARY 0'TOOLE on drums

Gary has been a musician since appearing with his parents' band aged 4 and a professional drummer since he was 18. He's played sessions with masses of bands and also teaches, developing the curriculum at Drumtech/TVU. We spotted him playing with his band Manuka in a basement club in London and he was dynamite (but we hired him anyway!). 

TERRY GREGORY on bass

Terry has played bass with some of the world1s top guitarists including Martin Taylor, Frank Gambale, Steve Hackett and Shaun Baxter. He has appeared on sessions with countless international acts and lectures at Brunel University, Jazz East, Basstech, Drumtech and the Powerhouse Group of Music Schools. In addition his columns have become an established feature of Guitarist and Guitar magazines. Luckily he was able to find time to fit us in! 

ROB TOWNSEND on sax & flute

Rob started playing drums aged 11. He got tired of carrying them around so took up sax nine years later.and studied jazz at Middlesex University in London. He now performs regularly in the UK and Europe playing contemporary jazz with various bands including "The Hungry Ants" and Django Bates' Delightful Precipice. Other work includes recording for film and television and in this field he's worked frequently with Oscar winning composer Stephen Warbeck. Rob has also recorded for and performed with contemporary dance groups including the Siobhan Davis Dance Co. and Phoenix Dance Co. His other interests include motorbikes and spicy food (a lethal combination!).
